Location Guide
If you're reading this, then we have booked a session together!! I am SO excited to have been chosen to bring your story to life & I can't wait to make your session vision a reality!
One of the MOST important elements to each session is LOCATION! It's the anchor point around which everything else is organized. It's how you decide what to wear, it sets the stage for the vibe and theme of the session, and it's what I refer to before I start planning out poses and prompts!
Because choosing a location is one of the biggest struggles that I find my clients facing, I have decided to put together this location guide!
In this guide, you'll find my favorite & most requested locations, as well as some other beautiful spots throughout our gorgeous mountain state and beyond!
These locations will provide you with LOTS of variety to ensure we can capture a wide range of images. Feel free to choose from any of these locations for your session, or if you have somewhere special in mind, I'd love to hear about it!
First things First — How to pick the best location...
With so many options, it can be hard narrowing down the choices, but I’m here to help you every step of the way. One of the biggest tips I have is to create a Pinterest board of inspiration photos that fit the vibe you want for your session.
- When you think of your photos, ask yourself these questions:
- What vibe am I going for? Any specific inspiration?
- What type of outfit(s) do I want to wear? What colors are they?
- Am I wanting a more classy feel to these pictures or do I prefer to be more comfortable during my session?
- Do we have any mobility concerns we need to consider when picking a location? Can we hike/climb or are we wanting something close to parking?
After you consider all of these things and have an idea of what you think would fit the vibe of your session, it will be much easier to select a location. I also recommend planning outfits/locations that compliment one another.
With all of this information in mind, look over this guide and decide on the location(s) that best suit you and your personalities!
